Senior A and Intermediate

Mike competed for Canada and was on the National team for 7 years. His biggest swimming highlight came when he represented Canada at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea. He still holds one of the oldest provincial records in the 200 butterfly. Under his direction, many KSC swimmers have swum at both the junior and senior National level. Mike was Alberta's Provincial Individual Medley Coach for several years.

Brad Mori

Assistant Head Coach

Email

In September 2012, coach Mori will begin his first season with the Killarney Swim Club as the assistant Head Coach.  “I am thrilled be a part of the KSC.  I look forward to helping Head Coach Mike Meldrum continue to move Killarney Swimming forward on both the Provincial and National levels.”

For the past 7 seasons Brad served as Head Coach and Director of Swimming for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns and Lethbridge Amateur Swim Club (LASC).  Mori successfully rebuilt all areas of program from grassroots to international levels using a fundamental philosophy “Build great people and you will build a great athlete. Through competitive swimming, experience life."

Under Mori's tutelage, multiple LASC and Horns swimmers have moved onto Swimming Canada's Youth, Junior, and National Teams and Provincial Teams. He has coached medal performances at provincial, western, national, and international events. But, it is "Personal achievement, through diligent process and development that Mori stresses the most to the swimmers he coaches."

Brooke started coaching with Killarney in January of 2012.  After nine years of being a competitive swimmer herself, she can easily relate to how it feels to be on the swimmer's end of workout and competitions.  Having this knowledge at hand, she will always enjoy motivating athletes to do their very best and achieve their goals.  With the strong belief in sparking a passion for the water and high values in hard work and bonding unforgettable friendships with teammates, Brooke hopes to offer the most aid and guidance she can in all physical, mental and emotional aspects of swimming.

In her youth, Sylvia  played water polo and swam for the U of S swim team as a backstroker.   She took time off to have a family and career, and is now back at the pool.  Sylvia has taught swimming at all levels for almost ten years and currently teaches at the Killarney pool.  Sylvia say's "The thrill for me is seeing it in a child’s eyes when “they get it” - they can do something they did not think they could do".  Her philosophy for coaching is “if it’s not fun – why would they bother?!”  Her goal as a coach is to give them a love of swimming
