Natasha MilfordIntermediate, Junior and Sprockets II, III I have been coaching for nine years; this will be my 6th season coaching at the competitive level, and 2nd year coaching for the Killarney Swim Club. I have coached kids ranging from the beginner level, to the provincial level, the Age Group National Level, even to the National SWAT level. I love working with young swimmers, and helping them reach their goals as a swimmer. I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to coach with and learn from many great coaches over the past years; this has helped me to "think outside of the box" while coaching, become more knowledgeable in my profession, and be the coach I am today. |
Laura McPheeJuniorLaura was a Junior National swimmer and her specialties were the 200 m backstroke and 50 m butterfly. She swam both summer and winter clubs. After retiring as a swimmer she went on to coaching the Cochrane Pirhana's summer swim club and was their Head Coach last summer. Away from the pool, you may find Laura in a U of C classroom studying biomechanics in the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Jiselle KohlmanSprockets II & IIIJiselle swam with KSC for 14 years. She was once a little Sprocket swimmer before reaching the Junior National level. This is going to be her fourth year coaching for KSC and her second year coaching Sprockets. Jiselle has a good understanding of what it takes at this level to one day step up to the challenge of making a junior National cut. |

Kayla LakustaSprockets II & IIIKayla has been with KSC for 14 years, both as a swimmer and as a coach; she was a successful provincial swimmer and is now starting her sixth year of coaching with us. Sylvia FarrantSprocket I
In my youth, I played water polo and swam for the U of S swim team as a backstroker. I took time off to have a family and career, and now I am back at the pool. I teach swimming at all levels at the Westside Rec. Centre, and have successfully coached basketball, and soccer. The thrill for me is seeing it in a child’s eyes when “they get it” - they can do something they did not think they could do. My philosophy for coaching is “if it’s not fun – why would they bother?!” My goal as a coach is to give them a love of swimming. |
Amy HessJunior Assistant Coach
Amy coached the Butte Tarpon swim Team for four years and prior to that swam competitively for 10 years. She has coached all ages and all swimming abilities, including a Para Olympic athlete. Many of her past swimmers were swimming at the National Junior Championship level and Zone Championship level. Amy is originally from Montana, USA, but has just moved to Calgary after living in Norway for four years. She has a degree in Geophysical Engineering. Away from the pool you will find her in the mountains, she is a volunteer ski patrol and avid climber. |
