Age Group & Senior Champs

Killarney competed as BRSA (Bow River Swim Assosiation) this past weekend alongside CWC and NCSA. It was an extremely successful weekend with lots of people who made finals and there were tons of best times swam. FOUR team records were broken, and TWO new swimmers qualified for Age Group Nationals!! Congratulations to JoJo Kaluznick and Jacob Ruissen, JoJo qualified in her 200 fly with a time of 2:43.38, and Jacob qualified in his 200 Br with a final time of 2:56.42! Excellent job everyone who swam this past weekend!

Age Group Trials

Killarney competed in the Long Course Age Group Trials this past weekend and the swimmers swam GREAT! Twelve swimmers competed in the meet and TWELVE Swimmers made finals in one or more events, and out of the twelve swimmers we had SIX advance on to Age Group Champs in Edmonton in two weeks. Congratulations to EVERYONE who attended Age Group Trials!

Summer Games Trials

This past weekend Killarney had 12 swimmers participate at the Alberta Summer Games Trials. The meet started Friday afternoon with lots of best times. The trend continued early Saturday morning and the swimmers continued to break their previous time. All in all it was a great meet and Killarney put 9 of our athletes on the team. Congratulations to Noah Bloomfield, Samantha Dunn, Adrienne Foscolos, Victoria Gammell, Samantha Groves, Kathryn Keenan, Mackenzie Meldrum, Linda Wang, and Andrew Yan!

 

 

 

 

pre - Season swim & Fitness camp

Mike Meldrum, Head Coach of the Killarney Swim Club will be hosting a city wide pre-season swim and fitness camp this summer. Mike swam on the Canadian National Swim Team for 7 years and competed in the 1988 Olympics, he was also the Alberta Provincial IM Coach for 3 years. The focus of the camp will be to increase fitness both in the water and on the land in preparation for the 2010/2011 swim season. The water workouts will focus on stroke technique, starts/turns and aerobic fitness. For more information please click HERE or call the office at (403) 244-9995.

 

end of the year training schedule

Please note when your child(ren) are done training for the season:

Sprockets- Mon/Wed last day is May 19; Tues/Thurs last day is May 20.

Junior and Intermediate non-provincial swimmers- Last day is June 11, remaining juniors will train during the intermediate practices at the Talisman, starting June 12.
