Bingo Update

Please check the new Bingo schedule (Bingo Schedule Oct 09 to June 10 v6) to see if the following adjustments affect your schedule:

  • The Killarney Swim Club has secured an additional Bingo for Wednesday, March 31 (afternoon).
  • A few adjustments regarding weekday afternoon Bingo shifts.
  • A few members have more Bingo's now than others, and I will take that into account for either summer Bingo's or ones in the fall.

Spring Break

Spring Break will start March 27th through to April 6th. Regular practice schedule will start up again Wednesday, April 7. Please note that this applies for all swimming squads.

 

Crazy Hat Meet

The Crazy Hat Meet was a huge success. THANK YOU to all the parents who worked hard to have everything run so smoothly, a special thanks to the meet management who really did a great job of running a larger meet in such a small venue. The kids did wonderful, they swam fast, cheered on team mates, and looked great in their Killarney gear and "crazy" hats. The Swimmers of the Meet are; Tyler Whitaker and Amanda Chen, both raced their hearts out, and did a great job encouraging team mates to do so as well. Job Well Done......let's keep it going for the next meet!

 

The First Annual KSC Pub Night and Fundraiser!

Tickets are $20 which includes a steak sandwich and a drink. We encourage all members to bring friends, relax from a hard days work and have a "green beer" while raising money for our swimmers by participating in an exciting silent auction. What a better way to spend an evening?

Junior to Senior A Squad Meet Change

Please note that there has been a revision to the Long Course meet registration form found in the Meets Section. There was no information available regarding the Chinook Invitational when we originally sent out the Long Course meet registration form.  As the club is having to do a lot of travelling this season due to the Talisman closure when we found out that there was an in town meet on the same weekend as the AMAC Long Course Invitational we made the decision to not travel to Medicine Hat and to stay in Calgary instead.

 

The deadline for handing in the form is Friday, February 5, 2010.

 

 

Emile's Baby has arrived!!

Emile is proud to announce that Alexa May Estelle Veroni arrived at 9:00pm on January 31, 2010 weighing 8 pounds measuring 22 inches. Mom and baby are doing well!

 

 

 

Crazy Hat Officials roster

Thank you to everyone who has offered to work our KSC Crazy Hat Meet this Saturday, February 6th at the Killarney Pool. Warm-up will start at 2 pm with the meet running from approximately 2:45 - 8:00 pm. A reminder to all officials to wear white bottoms and navy tops. Please check in at the officials room on arrival and mark yourself on the Officials Roster.

Request For Officials - February 6 Crazy Hat Meet

KSC is hosting a one-day Jr. Circuit meet on February 6 from 2pm (warm-up) to approximately 8pm at the Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre. We are requesting help from all Killarney families to make this meet a success.

If you are available please reply to kscofficials@killarneyswimming.com by Friday, January 22. Even if you are not qualified as an official there are always jobs that you can do.

Important Update REGARDING STSC WINTER INVITATIONAL!

It has been brought to our attention that the Silver Tide Swim Club will not be hosting the STSC Winter Invitational the weekend of February 6 & 7, 2010. The club will, therefore, be attending the NCSA Timmermans meet in Calgary February 13 & 14, 2010 instead. All Swimmers, Junior to Senior squads, may enter this meet. Please contact the office no later than Friday January 15, 2010 if you would like to attend this meet.

 

Equipment

Sharon Rees will be doing monthly orders from Team Aquatics for anyone needing swim gear this season. The club receives a team discount from Team Aquatics which it will pass onto club members less a small administration fee. Members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as it will save you time and money down the road.

 

Following is the recommended equipment for the various squads (see also Equipment Notes below).
